For the Saw 7, Marcus Dunstan and Patrick Melton was re-hired by Lionsgate to re-write the film and this news was recently announced. I think their plan is to begin work on the new movie and have it ready by the Halloween of next year.
I couldn't imagine that how Jigsaw's traps are going to be marvelously rendered in 3D!
The studio signed a contact with David Hackl, as a director, back in order to begin the extensive prep work necessary for a 3-D film. Producers also announced a press release that they have evaluated all their 3-D options.
